Setup of Templates

Thanks to our migrations team, you’ll get bespoke templates that match your site and be able to get started on developing great content within HubSpot.

Setup of templates

Our template setup team offers a structured collection of templates that have as close to the same style and feel of your website as possible. Due to its drag-and-drop functionality, even those without coding knowledge can begin creating blog posts and other pages. Our templates are intuitive & user-friendly, offering a seamless experience for site visitors moving from your website to content hosted in HubSpot.

It’s important to note that this is neither a redesign nor a tailored design service, rather it’s a standardisation service. Our team will match your site’s typography, footers and headers as accurately as we can, at the same time as offering standard, customisable page layouts. Each page’s content is not included, although footer and header content is.

Our migrations team creates a standardised set of coded files, global groups and templates that will match the look of your external site.

Take note that you don’t get email templates as part of this offering and if it’s something you can’t do without, please see our dedication service for Email Template Rebuilding. Take a look below at the types of content that cannot be migrated.

The template setup process does not include content migration. If you’re in need of help migrating your website content or blog migrated into HubSpot, get in touch with your primary HubSpot content who will tell you who to go about it.

What cannot be migrated by HubSpot:

  • Menus featuring non-linked content (e.g. paragraph content or descriptions), image-based menus & mega menus.
  • Live chat (although, on occasion, embedded Javascript services can be suitable)
  • Flash with multiple files/embedded links, Flash navigation & Flash websites.
  • Regular Facebook & Twitter feeds are included, although 3rd party bespoke widgets for sharing on social media are not.
  • Facebook Commenting, Disqus, author plugins, bespoke social media feeds or 3rd party plugins
  • Banner notifications & Pop-up forms Dynamic carts. The icon for your shopping cart is included, but the cart’s ‘count’ feature is not.
  • Login fields

The following are examples of features & content that might change when a website is migrated into HubSpot:

  • The HubSpot Search Module will replace any existing search functionality
  • Non-standard fonts, exact spacing & column widths may get changed
  • Functionality & your blog layout will be as accurately matched as possible within the bounds of what HubSpot’s blog tools are capable of. There may also be some changes to layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to add my business branding to a template from Marketplace?

Afraid not. If you would like to customise a template downloaded from Marketplace and add your branding, you should contact the Marketplace vendor about theme customisation.

Does the setting up of templates include every language currently on my website?

No. The language stated in the migration URL will be matched, but if you want to add more languages, it’s possible to use the cloning feature and perform a language update or simply buy more template setups for every language needed.

Does URL migration require a live URL to be submitted?

Yes it does. As part of your migration, we’ll strive to transfer your site as accurately as we can - something that requires us to see the existing code being used. As such, a live URL is needed, as it’s not possible to carry out a migration from a PSD file or image.

Which URL should I be submitting for my migration?

Any URL you provide for migration needs to have the same typography, footer and header that you need your HubSpot templates to have. This page also needs to feature a form in order to allow us to create form styling on your content and landing pages.

Am I able to submit a page that’s been password protected?

Yes, you can, however, we need to be able to access it, so you’ll need to provide your username & password.

What’s the timescale of the template setup process once begun?

Setting up templates usually takes around 1 to 2 weeks from start to finish, from the moment that the URLs have been submitted.

What amount of time do I have to create my business’s initial template setup?

Initial template setups are deemed to be included as part of your year 1 subscription and as such, expires 12 months from the date the service was created. It’s possible to start the project from within the portal whenever you want to during that first year.

If I find a template design problem after setup is completed, how is it reported?

It’s possible to report issues like these in your portal. Simply tap the top right-hand corner user icon. From there, you select ‘Accounts & Billing’ from the drop down and then tap on Migrations situated on the left-hand menu, before clicking the ‘Report Migration Issue’ button.

How do you go about using new templates to create a page?

In order for a page to be created in HubSpot, you need to click here and follow the instructions closely.

If I require the use of HubSpot Professional Migration services, which specific CMS edition do I have to use?

Website & blog migrations and template setup are available for both CMS Hub Enterprise & CMS Hub Professional customers. If you’re a CMS Hub Starter user, you can use the platform’s tools to import the structure of your site and blog content. Discover more here.
